A note from LaRayia
Hey, I'm LaRayia.
On my father's side, our story of America started when my abuelo moved to New York from Puerto Rico. Bodegas were all around, and everybody knew him by name. Once heaven called him home, that warming feeling of New York and home is what I've been chasing ever since.
My hat making started there too, with an idea for my first brand. I wanted to control what I wore and what I saw, and visibility mattered to me. I couldn't find the one that said what I wanted to say.
Later I opened my first Bodega in Los Angeles, because people in my neighborhood needed good food they could afford. Then I brought it to Atlanta. The hats came with me. Then jewelry. Then I put my paintings on the wall, and people asked to take them home.
So that's what this is. Things I made with my hands, for people who look like us and love like us. I hope you find something that feels like yours.
